What We Do
As a statewide organization, PPCF serves all Pennsylvanians, with programs directed toward the owners and stewards of public lands, resources and facilities to meet the needs of inclusive, sustainable community recreation and engagement, especially to under-resourced communities and organizations. PPCF uses an array of funding mechanisms to achieve its objectives, including grants, matching funds, contracts, sponsors, consultants, collaborative agreements and competitive RFPs.
Such programs may take various forms, including, but not limited to: park and recreation systems development and improvements, community education and advocacy, capacity building, research, technical assistance, and people development.
What PPCF Will Not Fund:
The PPCF shall not hold, own or manage property. It shall not fund ongoing operating support, nor duplicate services readily available elsewhere. It shall not operate contrary to the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society (PRPS) mission or the Pennsylvania State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP); or serve solely as a source for PRPS-originated projects.
Eligible Organizations:
Political subdivisions of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (municipalities, commissions, authorities, etc.), and legally recognized nonprofit entities are eligible to receive grants from the Foundation. Those that are PRPS members may apply for free. Nonmembers may be charged a nonrefundable fee at the time of application. The Foundation does not provide grants to individuals.
